Feed the Need

Proverbs 22:9 tells us that "A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor."  Feed the Need is an opportunity for all of us to live out this Scripture.  As a result of the present economic situation, there are many needs in our area.  God has burdened our hearts to step out in faith and meet these needs in any way possible.  There is no doubt that if we partner together using our time, talents, and resources, we can make a huge impact in our community!! 

Once a month, we will be distributing boxes of groceries and personal care items to families in need.  We are currently in the process of collecting the names of families from our local schools and church family.  Families will fill out an application and go through an interview screening process to be approved to receive food.  Then each month, they will receive a box of groceries and a box of personal care items which will provide for them for one week.  The first food distribution will take place on Saturday, November 1st at 5:00 pm during the Family Fall Festival.  Distributions are also planned for Saturdays November 22 and December 20.

How can I be involved with Feed the Need?

There are a variety of ways that you can be involved with “Feed the Need.” By giving only $20 per month above your tithe, you can sponsor a family of four for Feed the Need.  Each month, the family will receive a box of groceries and a box of personal care items that will provide for them for one week.  You can partner with us to Feed the Need in our community. The needs are great, and if each one of us does all that we can, we will be able to make a huge difference in our community.  We can do more together than we can alone!!  To sign-up to sponsor a family, you can fill out a Feed the Need family sponsorship form during one of our weekend worship celebrations or go to online giving and set-up an automatic monthly charge to your credit or debit card or withdrawal from your checking or savings account. Or simply give a check or cash and indicate that it is for Feed the Need.

How can I receive assistance?

If your family would benefit from Feed the Need, it would be our honor and privilege to be of assistance.  To apply for food, you simply need to fill out an application.  You can do this during any weekend worship celebration, at the church office Monday – Friday 8 am-5 pm, or online. After you have returned the application, an appointment will be set-up for an interview.  During the interview, you will receive final approval and more information about receiving your food.

Feed the Need is a great opportunity for us to partner together to meet the needs of our community.  We hope that you will join us as we strive to “Feed the Need” in our area and love out loud.  Everyone has different resources and needs, and some can give a lot, some a little, and some need assistance.  If we all come together and give what we can, we can “Feed the Need” together!!
